I felt like if there was one image to summarize Tempest it would be the sinking of the 'ship of dreams'

I made the image with that in mind and wanted to show a relationship that is both fragile and tender

I knew I wanted something in their beaks and liked the tension from the ribboning of a broken jawbreaker pattern

there is no other animal that so dramatically symbolizes the West like a bison

My thinking relates to the title of Dave's most recent album "away from the world" and the idea that artists often seek isolation from the rest of the world
